My name is Maria Barnett, and I am the founder and director of the Noah's Ark Project, adoption and shelter for cats and dogs, located at 251-61 Jamaica Ave in Bellerose, New York.

We are a no-kill shelter and our mission and philosophy is that no animal will ever be turned away from our shelter, and that they have the right to remain in our shelter, for how ever long it takes, till a suitable home is found for them, after a vigorous background check of the person or persons who wish to adopt them.

We also have had the good fortune to have Mrs. Helen Marshall, the Borough President of Queens County, and a large contingent of elected officials visited our shelter to support us in our endeavor to maintain and foster the Noah's Ark Project, at its present location.

We are also thankful to the local news media that covered the event.

Due to hard times we need again the support of the community to remain our shelter open. Once more we appeal to your generosity to support our shelter and our request to the media to put the Ark in the news. Please, sign our petition to go to the news.
